He said we brought him hope...

Hey gang! This week on #whatsmysnack we have an array of hot sauce! The Mason's had us over for dinner and brother Mason is in love with hot sauce. He loves Tabasco especially. He tells us all about how it's made and all the details of it. He has all sorts of different flavors. We had tacos which he called "a hot sauce delivery system". Funny guy with some real good hot sauce.

It was a great week, on Tuesday we went down to Naperville to drop off elder Stewart and I picked up my new companion elder Freeze. My man elder Freeze was raised in Indiana but moved to Orem right before he came out. He's a good guy and we are going to have a great transfer together.

Highlight of the week was definitely Dallas's baptism on Thursday morning! Because it was such an awkward time we weren't able to get a member of the bishopric to come so we were all worried if it was going to be able to happen or not. Then I told president Bingham about it in my interview with him and he said, "don't worry, I'll be there." President Bingham always coming up clutch!! So her baptism went very well and William Black gave an awesome talk on the holy ghost, that guy is a power house. She got confirmed on Sunday and is officially the newest member of the Schaumburg 2nd ward.

We had some good tracting this week, found a couple cool new peeps. One of which is Nigerian, I love them so much, they are my people. We stopped by a recent convert (from nigeria) and his friend was there. His name is Raymond and he was going through a really hard time and then while we were there he got locked out of his apartment. So we ended up sitting with him in the hall and teaching him the plan of salvation. He said he was so grateful for us being there and he said we made him forget about what was wrong. He said we brought him hope. Raymond is an awesome guy, we look forward to teaching him more.

I love the work, I hope y'all have a great week!

Life is good and the work is pressing on!

Hey gang! This week on #whatsmysnack we had a surprise birthday party for Elder Shupe. Brother Waite invite a bunch of elders over and he got some chocolate cake and ice cream! Good times with the boys.
We had a great last week of the transfer here in the burg. Dallas is doing super well and is getting baptized on Thursday!! We are pretty excited for her, she's met with missionaries for like a year now and finally feels ready to be baptized, woot woot!

We had exchanges with the assistants and I spent the day with Elder Tu'avao it was so dope! I hadn't been with Elder Tu'avao since we flew out here on the plane next to each other. We had a way good day contacting people on the college campus teaching lessons pretty much all day long. So much fun.

We got our transfer calls last night and Elder Stewart will be leaving me to head out to Chicago. And I will be training a new missionary again! Should be a good time! Life is good and the work is pressing on! I hope y'all have a great week!

..."the very powers of Hell would be shaken forever!!"

Hey gang! This week on #whatsmysnack we have Texas de Brazil!! I don't have any pictures except this blurry one we took while in the bathroom. But Texas de Brazil is pretty much Tucanos but better and higher quality. Also a lot more expensive. We went twice this week haha. First on Monday night with brother Filio, then again on Thursday night with the Bayne's! I was in heaven.

We had MLC on Tuesday, always a good time getting together with some long time mission buds. After MLC we were able to go to the temple with one of the members in the ward that we have been working with a lot. She has been a member for 42 years and has been less active most of her life and on Tuesday she got her endowment!!! It was amazing to be there with her, as well as getting to see the changes. The church is so true and revelation continues to flow through the modern prophets!!

We also got to go to the temple again on Saturday because our recent convert William Black was going to the temple for the first time!! This man is an absolute stud!! On Wednesday he went to the hospital because he had serious back pain and couldn't walk. We gave him a call planning on asking him to come to a lesson with us, he tells us he is at the hospital but says, "hold on, let me tell them I need to leave" haha this man was so ready to yank the IV out of his arm to come out to a lesson with us!! I'll tell ya what, if all members of the church were like unto William Black, with their desires to do missionary work, the very powers of hell would be shaken forever!!

Life is good! The church is true! Have a great week!

"The work of the Lord continues to progress..."

Hey gang! This week on #whatmysnack we have some good ol Shish kabob! A member took us to a place called Pita House. Some Mediterranean restaurant. I was totally picturing the shish kabob to be on a skewer but when it came out it was just chillin on rice! It was super good though!

What a week out here in the frozen tundra! We survived the polar vortex, it was crazy though! Wednesday and Thursday it got down to -25 degrees!! With the wind chill it was -50! Pretty crazy. All of the members and the people we were teaching were telling us we can't leave the apartment or we would die haha. Some missionaries were asking what we were supposed to do and President Bingham being the savage that he is said, "this is the work of salvation, not baseball, we don't have weather delays!" Nevertheless we were wise.

We found an awesome new Nigerian couple this week, unfortunately they are from a different tribe in Nigeria so I can't speak Yoruba to them. Their names are C and P, talk about a couple made in heaven. And they have a 5 year old daughter named A who is always jumping on the couch running around doing flips and what not. They are super solid though and are reading the book of Mormon, we are pumped to teach them!

Life is good and no longer cold, it's 50 degrees today and the 10 inches of snow we got last week is almost all melted. The work of the Lord continues to progress and I'm grateful for the opportunity I have to be an instrument in the Lord's hand to Bring salvation to his children! I hope y'all have a great week!
